Shirley M. Claypoole Solada/1964
Worthington
Shirley Mae (Claypoole) Solada, 62, of Worthington, died Sunday, April 5, 2009,
at home, with family at her side. She was born June 25, 1946, in Greensburg, a
daughter of the late Merle G. and Alice (McMunn) Claypoole. She was a lifelong
resident of Worthington and attended Harvest Community Church. She worked for 28
years as a department manager at Moonlight Mushrooms in Worthington and also as
a safety supervisor at JSP International in East Butler. She loved to crochet
and spend time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She is survived by
her husband of 38 years, Daniel G. Solada; daughters, Wendy D. (David) Schultz,
of Worthington; sons, Lee G. (Wendy) Solada, of Sarver, and Brian K. (Megan)
Solada, of Glen Allen, Va.; stepsons, David (Sherry) Solada, of Leechburg, and
Dennis (Dawn) Solada, of Connecticut; stepdaughter, Denise (Daniel) Aikens, of
Leechburg; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Judy
(William) Renshaw, of Freeport, Faye Ann (James) Cook, of Worthington, and Nancy
(Jeffery) Prewitt, of San Diego, Calif. Shirley battled cancer for the past
seven years and never gave up her fight to live. Friends will be received from 7
to 9 p.m. Tuesday at F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME in Worthington, where services
will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with ministers Bob French and Gene Strazzer
co-officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Worthington Civic
