Larry George Cypher
Larry George "Butch" Cypher, 68, of Worthington, died Saturday, August 25, 2012,
in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit, Cabot.
He was born November 10, 1943, in Kittanning, a son of the late Paul Cypher and
Henrietta (Schnur) Cypher.
He was a 1961 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
A lifetime resident of the community, he retired from Drug Plastic after 15
years, previously working for Moonlight Mushrooms for 25 years.
He was a member of Worthington-West Franklin VFD, where he was a past chief. He
was also a member of Camp Mercury Happy Hunters. He was an avid hunter and was
also a great husband, dad and "Pup". He raised a wonderful family that put the
fun in dysfunctional.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of Worthington; daughters, Kathy (Randy)
Heilman, of Worthington, Sharon (Mark) Mechling, of Homer City, Susan (Rich)
Green, of Wexford, Paula (Dave) Berry, of Kittanning, and Georgia (Kevin)
Bowser, of Worthington; a son, Richard (Crystal) Cypher, of Kittanning; 10
grandchildren, Lindsay Heilman and fiance, Ryan Hyde, Derek Mechling, Emily
(Bobbie) Gates, Kelsey Heilman, Dillon Green, Allie Green, Logan Bowser, Paul
Cypher, Laini Berry, Lauren Bowser and Maggie Cypher; sister, Jean Crytzer, of
Worthington; brothers, Ed (Dolly) Cypher, of Chicora, Ronald (Dot) Cypher, of
Alabama, and Carl (Sandy) Cypher; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog,
Duke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert
Cypher.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, in
the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Worthington. There will be a fireman's
memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Johns Catholic Church Cemetery,
Fenelton, Pa.
