Merrill Ernest Williams JR

Merrill Ernest Williams Jr., 66, of 132 Shadyside Drive died Tuesday morning,
March 23, 1999, in St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mr. Williams was born January 11, 1933 in Hartford City, Indiana, a son of
Merrill E. and Margaret (Fletcher) Williams Sr.

He came to Youngstown in 1961. He had been an electrician at Youngstown Steel
Door for 30 years before retiring in 1992.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He was an Army Veteran of Korean War. He was a member of the church, coached in
Boardman Bobcat, Colt, Class B, and Thoroughbred Leagues and was a scorekeeper
for class and umpire for youth baseball.

He was a member of the church Men's Club, was a Sunday School Teacher and youth
adviser, church officer, played on church softball and basketball teams and was
a licensed minister for the Church of God.

He was a member of the Worthington Rifle Association and had played baseball and
basketball for Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Besides his mother, he leaves his wife, the former Barbara E. Clever, whom he
married January 2, 1954; two sons, Ken A. of Gailup, New Mex., and John P. of
Germantown, Md; one daughter, Mrs Sheree Upright-Masenden of Boardman; a sister
Mrs. Patricia L. Ermond of Bradenton, Fl., and four grandchildren.

A sister, Mrs. Barbara A. George was deceased, Feb. 15, 1988.

There are no calling hours.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 1999, in Simon Road Church of
God.

Donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or the church building fund.
