Willena Jane Wilson Karns

Willena Jane Wilson Karns, 78, of Kittanning, died Thursday, July 9, 2009. 

She was born June 23, 1931, in Worthington, a daughter of the late Raymond and
Violet (Smith) Wilson.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School. 

She was a lifelong resident of the community. 

She was the wife of the late Louis L. Karns, who died Jan. 24, 1994. 

She was a retired nurse's aide at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was a
member of Worthington Lutheran Church. 

She was also a charter member and past president of West Kittanning Fire
Department Ladies Auxiliary and a scout leader with the Boy Scouts. She loved to
watch old movies. 

Survivors include her sons, Ralph Karns, of Kittanning, Gary Karns, of Ford
Cliff, and Richard Hirst, of Kittanning; daughters, LuAnn (Daniel) Fick, of
Harrisburg, and Lisa Karns, of Ford City; grandchildren, Laura Karns, of
Harrisburg, Kathy (Brandon) McLaughlin, of Pittsburgh, Christopher and Nicholas
Karns, both of Ford Cliff; brothers, Philip Wilson, of Butler, and Steven
Wilson, of Kittanning; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her
parents and husband, 

she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Schawl, Joyce Yaroschek and twin
sister, Jean Bowser. 

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday
in the MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. Funeral service will be
held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Ford Memorial Methodist Church, Ford City, with
Pastor Craig Peterson officiating. 

Interment in Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
