Helen J. Borden Thomas, 80, of Butler died at 4:55 a.m. Friday October 3, 2008
at Chicora Medical.
Born Jan. 10, 1928, in Kittanning, she was the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth
Borden.
She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church.
Helen enjoyed camping, playing cards, and doing word searches. She had been a
Cub Scout and Brownie leader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her
family and grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean and her husband John Kurtz of Vandergrift, and
Robin and her husband Larry Hildebrand of Slippery Rock; a son John and his wife
Kathy Thomas of Butler; six grandchildren, Stacey and her husband Mark Bowser of
Butler, Yvette and her husband Michael Smith of Butler, Robert and his wife
Jamie Callen of Springdale, Beth Ann and her husband Jason Gagen of Vandergrift,
and Megan and Mason Hildebrand, both of Slippery Rock; seven
great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Thomas who died February 12,
2005; a son Terrence Thomas, who died March 9, 2002; three sisters and a
brother.
