Delores Jean Croyle Valek

Delores Jean (Croyle) Valek, 72, of 427 Fourth Ave., Ford City died Monday, Feb.
18, 2002 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.
She was born May 16, 1929 in Lower Burrell to Amos J. and Ivy G. (Tarr) Croyle.
Mrs. Valek was the head cook at the C.U. Club in Ford City for 14 years and was
later a supervising cook for the Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging for eight
years.
Her memberships were VFW Post 4843 Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past
president; C.U. Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past president and secretary of
the Monsignor Joseph Tiso District (Alle-Kiski Valley) and Jednota Branch 200.
She was a Girl Scout Leader for the Keystone Tall Tree Girl Scout Council and
also was a volunteer for Divine Redeemer School for eight years.
Survivors include her hus-band of 51 years, Clement C. Valek, whom she married
Jan. 13, 1951; one son, Michael C. Valek of Newville; one daughter, Linda J.
McNeal of Ford City; three grandchildren, Matthew E. McNeal, Michael P. Valek
and Maria Lynn Valek; one brother, Richard Croyle of Harleysville; and one
sister, Bette Wallwork of Punxsutawney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, William, Albert, James
and Rayburn Croyle; and four sisters, Alice Croyle, Zelma Frankham, Jenny
Campbell and Henrietta Mikesell. |
