Robert W. Roofner, 78, of Worthington RD2, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at Sugar
Creek Rest.
He was born Jan. 17, 1926 in Adrian to Frank and Ella (Brown) Roofner.
Mr. Roofner was retired from Tile Works at Lairds Crossing.
An Army veteran, he served during World War II in the military police.
He was a member of the Worthington Baptist Church and was formerly a deacon and
Sunday school teacher at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Agnes (Schrecongost) Roofner whom he
married April, 1946; two sons, Paul Roofner and wife Grace of Waynesburg and
Gary Roofner and wife Susan of Owego, N.Y.; one daughter, Karen Ervine and
husband David of Tipton; eight grandchildren, Ted Roofner, Rachel Dehart, Kevin
Roofner, Dawn Williams, Ryan Roofner, Jared Ervine, Jana Ervine and Josh Ervine;
10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Roofner of Kittanning RD3 and Carl
Roofner of Worthington RD2; and three sisters, Maude Anker of Dallas, Pa., Janet
Keener of Sarver and Vera White of Cowansville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Bonnie Roofner; one
great-granddaughter, Catherine Roofner; and two sisters, Emma Smith and Alice
Dezort. |
