Alma Grace Lewis, 82, of Harrisville, formerly of Worthington, died Sunday,
March 22, 2009, in Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville. She was born June 8,
1926, in Worthington, a daughter of the late Frank Gaiser and Effie (Minteer)
Gaiser. She was the former director of Calvary Church Day Care Center in Butler.
She was a member of Worthington Presbyterian Church, the church choir, a Sunday
school teacher, and one of the first deacons of the church. She was a member of
the Board of Directors at the Worthington Library and a former auxiliary
volunteer at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her husband
of 62 years, K. Dale Lewis; daughters, Donna Kaye Lewis, of Dowanda, N.Y., and
Beverly (Thomas) Kennedy, of Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, Rebecca Myers,
Matthew Kennedy and Nathan Kennedy; six great-grandchildren; and one
stepgrandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a
brother, Elton Gaiser. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Worthington.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Presbyterian Church,
with additional visitation being held one hour prior to the service at the
church. The Rev. Jonathan Speck, church pastor, will officiate. Interment in
Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Autumn
