Thomas P. Peterson
Ford City
Thomas P. Peterson, 84, of Ford City, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, in Armstrong
County Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Worthington, to Paul and
Pauline (Tirpak) Peterson. He retired as Supervisor of Eljer Pottery and was
employed by the Kiln Department of Ford City. He was a veteran of World War II
having served as a sergeant in the Army. He was a member of Christ Prince of
Peace, Ford City, Jednota, Falcons, Eagles, Latin American Club and the VFW. He
is survived by his daughters, Sandra Peterson, of Ford City, and Nancy and Mike
Fabian, of Ford Cliff; and grandchildren, Meghan, Mallory and Meredith Fabian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine (Chaloupka) Peterson, who died
Aug. 23, 2009; brothers, John, Frank, Joseph and George Peterson; and sisters,
Mary Kolar and Frances Bono. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday in MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, Ford City, with a parish wake service Tuesday
night. Prayer service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home followed
by funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in Christ Prince of Peace, Ford City, with
Father Bryan Summers. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
