George William Giff

George William Giff, 81, of Worthington RD1 died Sunday, June 13, 2004 in
Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.

He was born May 26, 1923 in Buffalo Township to James and Florence (Smith)
Giff.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Mr. Giff was formerly employed by the Butler County Mushroom Farm.

A veteran, he served as an air traffic controller with the Army Air Corps in the
European Theater during World War II.

His hobby was building model rockets. He was a neighborhood repairman and
electrical handyman.

Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Arno and husband Richard of Sarasota,
Fla., Audrey Nemit and husband John of Apollo and Mary Schrecengost and husband
Harold of Bradenton, Fla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one
brother, Louis Giff of Worthington RD1; and one sister, Grace Edgington of
Worthington RD1.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Jean Marie Giff,
who died Jan. 14, 1999; and one son, James Giff.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the F. Duane
Snyder Funeral Home, Bear Street, Worthington, where funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ray Lesseski officiating. 

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa. 

The family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Bible
Baptist Church, Worthington.
