Formerly of Worthington
James A. Flick, of Crystal River, Fla., formerly of Worthington, died Wednesday,
Dec. 17, 2008, at home while with his loving wife and son and under Hospice
Care. He was born in Worthington, son of the late James and Virginia (Anthony)
Flick. He owned and operated the James A. Flick Funeral Home in Worthington
until his retirement in 1985 and moved to Florida in 2000. He was a World War II
veteran, serving in the 89th Attack Squadron of the Army Air Force. Jim was an
avid golfer, holding a membership for many years at Lenape Golf Course. He
enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Ruari, and his dog, Hershey. He loved
traveling and flying. Jim was a graduate of Worthington High School and
Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and attended Slippery Rock University.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Long) Flick; son, James Walker Flick and
wife, Theresa; grandson, Ruari Walker Flick; and stepgrandson, William John
Rutterman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
stepfather, D.P. "Bud" Anthony; and brother, Berton Paul Flick. A memorial
service will be held in the Spring and will be announced at that time.
