James Abram Flick

James Abram Flick, 85, of Crystal River, Fla., formerly of Worthington, died
Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at home while with his loving wife and son and
under Hospice Care.

He was born, April 27, 1923, in Worthington, son of the late James A. and
Virginia M. (Bowser) Flick.

Jim was a 1941 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School and Pittsburgh
Institute of Mortuary Science and attended Slippery Rock University.

He owned and operated the James A. Flick Funeral Home in Worthington until his
retirement in 1985 and moved to Florida in 2000.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the 89th Attack Squadron of the Army
Air Force.

Jim was an avid golfer, holding a membership for many years at Lenape Golf
Course. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Ruari, and his dog, Hershey.
He loved traveling and flying.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Long) Flick; son, James Walker Flick and
wife, Theresa; grandson, Ruari Walker Flick; and step-grandson, William John
Rutterman.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia M.
Anthony and his stepfather, Delbert P. "Bud" Anthony; and his brother, Berton
Paul Flick who passed away on Jan. 29, 1966.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring and will be announced at that
time.
