George Alfred Williams

George Alfred Williams, 78, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of East Butler died at
10 p.m. Monday, March 17, 1997, at Waterman Hospital, Eustis, Fla.

Born June 28, 1918, in Craigsville, Armstrong County, he was the son of Walter
Raymond and Grace Vienna (Blose) Williams.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He retired as a craneman and electrician at Pullman Standard.

Mr. Williams was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of VFW Post 249.

Surviving are his wife, Lottie Rose Williams, whom he married May 15, 1987; a
daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Betty Lou) Smith, of East Butler; three sons, James W.
Williams of Pensacola, Fla., Ronald E. Williams of Renfrew and George A.
Williams Jr. of Altoona; two stepsons, Richard E. Turner of Eustis and Larry R.
Turner of Coleman, Fla.; three sisters, Norma B. Hayes, Mrs. Floyd (Virginia)
Rettig and Zetta Mae Pistorius, all of Butler; seven great-grandchildren; and a
number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice (Claypoole) Williams, who
died April 8, 1982; and by an infant son, a sister, Pauline Pomeroy and two
brother-in-laws.

Friends of George A. Williams, who died Monday, March 17, 1997, will be received
at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 West Jefferson St., Butler, Pa.

Interment in Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
