Homer R. Benton , 66, of 340 Sunset Dr., was dead on arrival at Butler Memorial
Hospital emergency room at 5:30 p.m. November 16, 1983. He had been ill since
September.
Born in Ford City, February 13, 1917, he was the son of the late Walter F. and
Sarah Jane Smith Benton.
Mr. Benton was formerly employed by Pittsburgh Plate Glass of Ford City for 22
years, and more recently by Magnetics Inc. of East Butler, from where he retired
in February 1982.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Helen E. Benton, whom he married April 8, 1937; two
sons, Homer R. Benton Jr., of Akron, Ohio, and Richard H. of East Butler; six
grandchildren, two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Joseph of Rochester,
N.Y., and John of Kittanning; and a number of nieces and nephews.
BENTON- Friends of Homer R. Benton of 340 Sunset Dr., who died Wednesday Nov.
16, 1983, will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North
St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Saturday from the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Moore, pastor of
Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Rev. David Fisher of Homeacre Chapel
officiating. Buriel will be in Worthington Lutheran Cemetary. Arrangements by
Thompson-Miller.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 120
Sunset Dr., Butler. |
