Marvel Edwin Gaiser SR
Marvel Edwin Gaiser Sr., 74, of RD 3, Kittanning, Pa., died Saturday, April 20,
1991 at his residence.
He was born March 28, 1917 in Worthington the son of Earl D. and Bessie S.
(Hilliard) Gaiser.
He graduated with the (Class of 1935) from Worthington-West Franklin High
School, Worthington, Pa.
Mr. Gaiser was owner and operator of a grocery store in Walk Chalk (RD,
Kittanning), from 1946-56 and then retired in 1981 from Pullman-Standard in
Butler, Pa. A member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington. He was a
World War II Army Air Force veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater.
Survivors include his wife, Luanna "Lydia" (Pavlik) Gaiser, whom he married
September 26, 1942; a son, Marvel Edwin Gaiser Jr. of RD 1, Worthington; two
brothers, Everett Karl Gaiser of RD 1, Cowansville, Pa., and Chalmer Leroy
Gaiser of Prospect, Pa.; two sisters, Thelma E. Pence and Laretta Mae Graham,
both of Worthington and two grandchildren, Daniel and Ashley Gaiser of RD 1,
Worthington.
Friends of Marvel Edwin Gaiser Sr., 74, of RD 3, Kittanning, Pa., who died
Saturday, April 20, 1991, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday,
April 22, at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington and Tuesday, April
23, 1991, at 10 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington until
services begin there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Worth, pastor,
officiating.
Burial will follow in Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Worthington or VNA Hospice Program, Butler.
