Carolene Lucille Wylie Snyder

Carolene Lucille Wylie Snyder, 100, of Cowansville, died Thursday, December 4,
2014, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. 

She was born March 19, 1914, in Grove City, to the late John and Jessie
(Guthrie) Wylie. 

She was a member of the 1933/first graduating class of Worthington High School,
Worthington, Pa. 

She was an 81-year member of the Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville,
where she was the oldest living member and, for many years, taught Sunday school
and served as an elder. 

She was also a member of Golden Links and Women's Association. She was a past
matron of Kittanning Chapter No. 277 Order of Eastern Star, past officer of
Kittanning Court No. 126 Order of Amaranth, and past officer and district deputy
of Rebekah Lodge.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to her caretaker, Cindy
Smith. 

She is survived by a son, Duane Snyder, of Kittanning; daughter, Marvene and
husband, Dr. O.G. Bowser, of Cowansville; three granddaughters, Tracey
Thomaswick and husband, Ron, of Murrayville, Ga., Becky Snyder, of Kittanning,
and Amy Blakney and husband, Terry, of Erie; four great-grandchildren, Zachary
and Emma Thomaswick, and Aaron and Ryan Blakney. 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G.
Snyder, whom she married July 29, 1933, and were married 61 years until his
death in 1995; brother, Lawrence Wylie; and daughter-in-law, Nancy J. Snyder. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the
SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, in Cowansville, and from 12:30 until the time of
service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville
with the Rev. Mary Marks King officiating. 

Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Orphans of the Storm or
the memorial fund at Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville.
